After setting aside S$20,000 and a buffer for charges by your Agent Bank (UOB, DBS or OCBC), you can invest all of the remaining balance of your CPF OA savings under the CPF Investment Scheme. This is your OA Investible Amount, and up to 100% can be invested in unit trusts via the Endowus platform.
We recommend leaving a buffer of at least S$50 of your CPF OA Investible Amount. For example, you have a total of $100,000 in your CPF OA and your CPF OA Investible Amount is $80,000. We recommend investing up to S$79,950 to ensure that you have sufficient funds to pay for the Agent Bank fees. If there are insufficient funds for your investment request, your Agent Bank will reject your investment order and charge a fee to process your unsuccessful transactions.
How do I check my CPF OA Investible Amount?
Web browser: Log in to my cpf digital services with your Singpass > Select my cpf > My dashboards > Investment
Mobile app: Log in to CPF Mobile app with your Singpass > Select My Investment
The amount available for professionally managed products (minus a buffer for Agent Bank charges) can be used for investments in unit trusts via the Endowus platform.
The above instructions are updated as of 7 April 2022, please refer to the CPF website for the latest instructions.
What are the Agent Bank charges?
These are charges levied by the Agent Bank of your CPF Investment Account (DBS, UOB, OCBC). As our partner broker, UOB Kay Hian, is a CPF Investment Scheme (CPFIS) included Investment Administrator (IA), Endowus clients will be charged lower Agent Bank fees as compared to investing via a non-IA.
- Transactions (buy or sell): S$2 - $2.50 per transaction on a portfolio basis. No transaction fee will be charged for switching/rebalancing of portfolio
- Service charge: S$2-2.50 on a portfolio basis per quarter
- Rejected trades: $5 to process each unsuccessful transaction (i.e. due to insufficient funds)
* Please note that Agent Bank charges are GST applicable
Benefits of investing via a CPF Investment Administrator
As a CPFIS included Investment Administrator, UOB Kay Hian can draw a consolidated amount of funds directly from your CPF agent bank for all your CPF investments. This means that you will be charged a transaction and service fee on a portfolio basis, rather than on a per security basis, and no transaction fees for rebalancing or switching of portfolios.
I.e. If you buy 7 funds for your portfolio, you will only be charged up to S$2.50 for the transaction, rather than S$2.50 per 1000 units of fund x 7 (subject to a maximum of S$25). You will also be charged a service fee of up to S$2.50 per quarter for your portfolio, rather than S$2.50 x 7 = S$17.50.
