What happens when I set up an eGIRO arrangement?

Once an eGIRO mandate has been created, you’ll be able to fund your investments directly using eGIRO. 

This means that when you create a SGD cash investment on your Endowus account and select a linked eGIRO account as the method of funding, your money is seamlessly and automatically drawn from your bank account to fund the investment.

There is no need to deposit cash into your Endowus account for each investment that you make, even recurring ones!

Things to note when linking your eGIRO account

  • You may only link individual bank accounts. You will not be able to link a joint bank account or corporate bank account. 
  • Take note of your payment limit. The payment limit you indicate at the creation of your eGIRO mandate will determine the maximum amount that can be drawn to fund each investment. This payment limit must be above $100. 
  • Take note of the expiry date. The mandate will last till the expiry date. This date needs to be more than 3 months from the setup date.

*Please note that should there be a discrepancy in the identity of the account, the eGIRO setup will be on hold. You will need to provide a bank statement (dated no longer than 3 months) to validate your application. We will keep the application open for 14 days, after which the eGIRO application will be cancelled. 

*Please note that once this limit is set, to change it, you'll have to reach out to us via support@endowus.com to cancel the current eGIRO arrangement and set up a new one thereafter. 

 

Which banks can I set up eGIRO payments with?

Currently, you may use the eGIRO feature with the following banks: DBS, HSBC, OCBC, SCB and UOB.

We will soon be providing support to Maybank, BOC, and Citibank.

How do I set up my eGIRO payment?

  • On your Endowus account, select the "Transfer" button and then "Deposit Cash" then tap on the banner to start setting up your eGiro. 

  • Tap on the banner to start setting up your eGiro or if you've already set up your eGIRO with one bank account and would like to set up an eGIRO payment for another bank account, select "Set Up eGIRO"

  • At the eGIRO landing page, once you've selected "Set Up now", you'll be able to enter the bank and the amount you'd want deposited. 

  • Thereafter, you'll be navigated to your corresponding bank website. Enter your login details and continue setting up your eGIRO payment. 

DBS

  • Once you've logged in, check that the billing organisation is UOB Kay Hian Private Limited.

  • Select the bank account you would like to set up for the eGIRO payments. You may set a payment limit of 0 to enjoy seamless transfers.
  • Once you select "Next" a notification will be sent to your phone from your DBS Digibank App. Select the app and tap "Approve".

  • You'll be navigated back to the Endowus app. It may take a moment to process your eGIRO application. Please stay on this screen until you receive confirmation of your eGIRO setup and you're all done!



UOB

  • Once you've logged in, check that the billing organisation is UOB Kay Hian Private Limited.

  • Select the bank account you would like to set up for the eGIRO payments. You may leave the payment limit empty to enjoy seamless transfers.
  • Once you select "Next" a notification will be sent to your phone from your UOB TMRW app. Select the app and tap "YES".

  • Switch back to the Endowus app. It may take a moment to process your eGIRO application. Please stay on this screen until you receive confirmation of your eGIRO setup and you're all done!


OCBC

  • Once you've logged in, check that the billing organisation is UOB Kay Hian Private Limited.

  • Select the bank account you would like to set up for the eGIRO payments. You may leave the payment limit empty to enjoy seamless transfers.
  • After you've reviewed the terms and conditions, select "Submit". Another notification will be sent from your OCBC Digital app to authorise the eGIRO set up. On your OCBC Digital app, select "Confirm" to authorise the eGIRO setup. 

  • Switch back to the Endowus app. It may take a moment to process your eGIRO application. Please stay on this screen until you receive confirmation of your eGIRO setup and you're all done!

Standard Charted Bank

  • Once you’re navigated to the Standard Chartered's website, enter your bank account credentials to login

  • You'll receive a bank notification; go to the Standard Chartered app to approve the login.

  • After logging in successfully, select a bank account and set your payment limit and expiry date. We recommend not setting payment limit and expiry date for smoother transactions. Thereafter, agree with Terms and Conditions and press Continue.

  • You'll receive a bank notification. Please use your Standard Chartered app to approve the login.

  • Switch back to the Endowus app. It may take a moment to process your eGIRO application. Please stay on this screen until you receive confirmation of your eGIRO setup and you're all done!

HSBC

  • Once you’re navigated to the bank website, generate a security code for login.

  • After you've logged in, scroll down to the end of the page, agree with Terms and Conditions and press Continue
  • Thereafter, select a bank account and set your payment limit and expiry date. We recommend not setting payment limit and expiry date for smoother transactions.

  • Scroll down to the end of the screen to generate a security code and authorise the eGIRO setup

  • Review your eGIRO arrangement details and click Submit. You’ll be navigated back to Endowus app

  • Switch back to the Endowus app. It may take a moment to process your eGIRO application. Please stay on this screen until you receive confirmation of your eGIRO setup and you're all done!


How do I cancel/modify my eGIRO arrangement?

You can cancel or modify your eGIRO payments directly on your bank app. You will not be able to make these changes through the Endowus app. 


Why did my eGIRO deposit fail?

  1. Your eGIRO mandate was cancelled or has expired
  2. There is an insufficient balance on the transferring bank account
  3. The deposit amount exceeded the eGIRO mandate limit that was set up for the account.
  4. The deposit amount exceeded the daily limit for FAST transfers from your bank account.


How much can I transfer via eGIRO?

There is a minimum of S$20 and a limit of S$200,000 per transaction. 

The limit is also subject to the eGIRO payment and daily limits set up with your bank. 


What are the fees and charges for an eGIRO payment?

There are currently no charges associated with creating an eGIRO mandate.
