How is the price of my ETF determined?
ETFs trade on an exchange throughout the day, with prices moving in real time. This live intraday pricing is not currently shown on our platform. Instead, the ETF's last available closing price is displayed on the fund page as a reference point.
The actual execution price of your order is confirmed only after your order has been filled. You can refer to this page for the timeline of your order.
Why do I see a "closing price" instead of a live/real-time price?
Live intraday pricing is not currently shown on our platform. Instead, we display the ETF's closing price, which is typically available around 12 hours after market close, once the pricing data has been published and synced.
We're exploring ways to show more pricing context in the near future.
What fees am I charged when investing in ETFs?
The fee structure for ETFs is the same as unit trusts. There are two components:
- Fund fees (Total Expense Ratio). This is charged by the fund manager, not by Endowus. It is already reflected in the fund's price rather than billed to you separately.
- Endowus Fee. This covers our advisory and investment services, and product and platform access — including fund screening, portfolio construction, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. The fee is calculated using an annual rate on your Assets under Advice (AUA) but is charged to you quarterly, subject to prevailing GST.
There are no trading or brokerage fees when you buy or sell ETFs on Endowus, so more of your money stays invested in the market.
You can refer to this page for all the fees that our clients have to take note of while investing on our platform.
Do ETFs have trailer fees? Will I receive a cashback?
Most ETFs do not have have trailer fees. As ETFs are bought and sold on public stock exchanges like individual stocks, ETF providers generally do not pay recurring distribution commissions to brokers.
For the small number of ETFs that offer such rebates, we will work with UOB Kay Hian to pass these back to you as Cashback, in keeping with our commitment to return 100% of trailer fees to clients.
How is my ETF trade be executed and settled?
ETF orders are handled the same way as our unit trust transactions - we batch all orders together once a business day. For cash orders, the daily cut-off is 12.30pm on a business day.
Orders placed before the 12.30pm cut-off are submitted to our broker and executed at the closing price after market close on the same day. You will receive your trade confirmation when the order is fully completed..
The settlement date depends on the market in which the ETF is listed — for example, T+1 for US-listed ETFs and T+2 for most EU-listed ETFs. You can refer to this page for the full order processing timeline.
Why does Endowus do batch trading for ETFs?
We submit ETF orders once a day, rather than executing multiple orders throughout the trading day. This allows us to source competitive quotes from multiple market makers for each trade before it is placed. We work towards securing you a fair price for long-term investing, rather than towards speed or intraday timing.
Can my ETF trade be rejected or cancelled?
In some rare cases, your order may not be executed due to market-related factors. We will notify you and carry it forward to the next business day. If your order is cancelled, we will return your funds to your cash balance and let you know.
Why does my ETF value look different from the price I see on other data providers like on Google or Yahoo Finance?
This is due to how we display the ETF's last available closing price, which is typically published around 12 hours after market close. This is in contrast to public financial websites that show live or more recent pricing.
Your holding's value is based on the most recent closing price we have synced from Morningstar (our data provider). This difference is expected and resolves as new pricing data comes in.
