How to invest and manage your ETF investments

Customising your ETF preference

You can choose whether to include ETFs in your view using the ETF preference toggle in Preferences.

  • If your firm does not require pre-trade approval for investments in unit trusts or ETFs: Simply switch the ETF preference toggle on, and you'll be able to view and access our full suite of ETFs.
  • If your firm only permits investments in unlisted CIS such as unit trusts: Keep the ETF preference toggle off, and ETFs will be hidden from your view.

If you do not see this toggle in Preference but would like to invest in ETFs, please email us at support@endowus.com.

How to invest in ETFs?

You can simply create a new goal or modify your existing goal to invest in an ETF.

Here is the guide to create a new goal to invest in an ETF.

Here is the guide to modify your existing goal to invest in an ETF. Kindly note that a rebalancing under “goal modification” will be triggered.

What is the minimum investment amount when investing in an  ETF?

The minimum investment amount for most ETF funds available on Endowus is US$100. However, a small number of ETFs on our platform may have a higher minimum investment amount, as set by our brokerage partner, UOB Kay Hian. These minimum investment amounts are set to ensure that your orders will be put through.

Can I invest in ETFs with my cash, CPF or SRS?

The ETFs on our platform are denominated in USD. Therefore, you may currently only invest using USD Cash. CPF and SRS are currently not available.

As the ETFs are denominated in USD, you will need to deposit USD directly to your account to fund any investments you make.

Alternatively, may deposit SGD Cash and perform a conversion to USD. You can refer to this page on how to perform a foreign currency conversion.

Does Endowus support fractional units for ETFs?

Yes, Endowus supports fractional units for most ETF funds. This means your US$100 investment order will be fulfilled despite the price per unit being higher than US$100.

How do I sell my ETFs, and when will I receive the proceeds?

You may redeem ETF holdings from your goal in the same way as any other fund. Redemption orders follow the same 12.30pm cut-off and batching process as investments.

Proceeds are credited to your Uninvested Cash Balance following settlement — typically T+1 for US-listed ETFs and T+2 for most EU-listed ETFs. You can refer to this page on how to place a redemption.

How does auto-rebalancing work if my goal includes ETFs?

Auto-rebalancing works the same as your other goals with unit trust and/or ETF funds. You can refer to this page on how Endowus performs the different types of rebalancing.

Can I transfer my ETFs from/to another platform?

At this time, we do not support inbound and outbound ETF transfers from/to other platforms. However, we are actively working to make this feature available in the near future.
